VI International Conservation Conference entitled: Problems of museums related to the preservation and conservation of collections, Szreniawa October 9-10, 2014

The 6th International Conservation Conference Problems of Museums with Preservation and Conservation of Collections was held on 9-10 October 2014 with the support of the National Institute for Museums and Public Collections.

The meeting on the protection of cultural assets was devoted to the issues related to biotic and abiotic threats occurring in museums. These were considered in three thematic blocks. The discussion of the above issues began with speeches on protection against insect and fungus infestations as well as abiotic corrosive factors of historic buildings made of various materials. Next was discussed the influence of temperature, air humidity and similar conditions on the state of preservation of historic buildings. The conference was concluded with speeches touching upon the issues of protection of historic buildings and management of conservation of the collections.

The conference was attended by scholars and conservators representing several dozen domestic and international museums.
