VII International Conservation Conference entitled: Problems of museums related to the preservation and conservation of collections, Szreniawa October 12-14, 2016

The 8th International Conservation Conference Problems of Museums with Preservation and Conservation of Collections was held on 12-14 October 2016 with the support of the National Institute for Museums and Public Collections. The sessions focused on the following 4 themes.

  1. Protection of objects made of organic material.
  2. Conservation of large-sized objects and objects to be set in motion.
  3. Methods of conservation of museum objects and the obligations of the restorer in designing and modernizing the exhibition.
  4. Conservation organisation and management in museums.

On October 13, the second day of the Conference, a study trip to the Museum of Wickerwork and Hop Cultivation in Nowy Tomyśl, branch of the Museum in Szreniawa, featured a lecture of Prof. Jędrzej Stępak from Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań on “live wicker forms”. The second part of the study visit took place in the Centre for Regional and Natural Education in Mniszki.
